House Of Lashes have landed on the ShowMe MakeUp desk this morning!
These are the new ‘Iconic’ lashes, and a set of bottom lashes to go with them.
I can’t wait to use these in a tutorial.
I don’t usually like thick banded lashes, but I’ve heard great reviews on these, so I will give them a go and let you know how I get on.
When using strip lashes with a thick band, warm them up with a hair dryer and then bend into a ‘C’ shape while they cool down.
The warmth from the hairdryer warms up the glue on the band which makes it moldable. So they should cool off into more of a curved shape which will sit better on your eyelid.
There’s nothing worse than a strip lash that keeps pinging-up one side!

I like to just play up my eyes as opposed to wearing too much foundation & intense lips.
So, I created a soft smokey eye & tousled hair, on myself for my sisters hen do yesterday.
I opted for some large lashes being as we were off to a cabaret evening. I usually wear something a bit more subtle.
On my eyes I used Benefit creaseless cream eyeshadow in ‘Birthday Suit’ & I used two browns by MAC to define the outer corners. On top of those, I used Bobbi Brown Black gel liner on the waterline & across the top lid.
This was quick to create.
I don’t like to wear foundation, so I just used a light mist of airbrush so it didn’t cover my freckles too much, and went for a more natural look to my skin. I added a touch of bronzer around my temples & cheekbones, and finished off with a bit of Harmony blush!
For my hair, I used a large Babyliss conical wand.
Here are some behind the scenes images of my Amphibian makeup look.
You can see a close up of the paper eyelashes I made, with the lace & crystals added on.
Also, the pieces I made for the head from foam paper. After cutting to shape I airbrushed all the pieces creating a gradient, then I glued all the crystals & beads on, added lace behind all the cut out sections, and finally I placed in some tacking pins at the edges to create spiked looking accents.
In the middle you can see the makeup after I applied all the pieces, before shooting. And on the left is a before & after of the model!

I’ve just had Blue semi permanent eyelash extensions put on by my twin sister, Callie, who owns “Get Lashed Lashes”

Look at the difference in this clients lashes from start to finish. Talk about opening the eye and looking alert!
This is a ‘D Curl’ Glam Set of individual lash extensions. The process takes under two hours and lasts up to 3 weeks before you require infills. Usually this would cost £80+ but my twin sister does a ‘natural set’ at just £40 and charges ONLY £55 for a ‘Glam Set’!
She also specialises in creative lash extensions such as brightly coloured sets like Blue, Pink and even Lilac. She also does Rainbow sets for festivals etc. Check out her page on FaceBook: www.facebook.com/GetLashedLashes
Look at this stunning collection of eyelashes! The packaging is simply gorgeous..
The winning part of this collection for me are the names of the lashes. They are named after famous female icons throughout the 20th Century.
* Bridgette - Doll Eyed look and giving you a fuller look to the base of your lashes.
* Sophia - Corner lashes for a winged out look. Subtle but sexy.
* Marilyn - Full and flirty for a dramatic eye. Ultimate evening lashes!
* Audrey - Full and luscious lashes, similar to Marilyn but not as dramatic.
* Jane - My faves, these lashes elongate towards the outer edge, creating a sexy winged out eye, with separated lashes all the way along.
* Diana - Perfect for a wide-eyed look. These lashes are longest in the centre.
These are high quality premium lashes, and they are accompanied by a card with instructions on how to apply and look after your lashes.
