I created this Cranberry coloured eye look today and I paired it with an Aubergine dark lip.
To get the look;
I used ‘Soft Ochre’ paint pot, by MAC, over the eyelid. This neutralises the lid & also prevents the shadow from shifting.
To give a smooth and tack-free surface to apply the coloured eyeshadow to, I swept Vanilla eyeshadow from MAC over the entire lid up to the brow bone.
Though the socket line I added a light transition colour; I mixed a matte Red eyeshadow with a matte Camel coloured eyeshadow, and on a blending brush I softly shaded through the crease of the eye. The purpose of this was so that I could place a darker colour through the socket line afterwards and it would make light work of the blending.
On the very centre of the mobile eyelid I patted on a soft satin finish eyeshadow from Anastasia Beverly Hills. This colour is the lightest shade from an eyeshadow duo they created back in 2012. This duo was called ‘My Bedford’
Next, I placed Cranberry eyeshadow from MAC, on the inner & outer 3rd of the eyelid. So, this emphasised the lightest shade I placed on the centre of the lid, making it appear larger just in the centre.
On the outer ‘V’ of the eye I placed the darker eyeshadow from the ‘My Bedford’ duo palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, which is a deep purple colour. This deepened the outer edge of the crease, and created more dimension. I used a fluffy blending brush to soften the placement of the purple eyeshadow, so the colours blended seamlessly.
Underneath the lower lashes I mimicked the top lid, using the same colours but in a smaller amount so it just smoked the lower lash-line.
After the eyeshadow was complete, I used a cream liner by Kryolan in the colour Aubergine. I painted this across the waterline & I also tightlined the eyelid. This means to paint underneath the top lashes, to rid any pink fleshy tones, which makes the eye look even more smokey.
And lastly, I applied a top set of eyelashes; M102 by Eldora Eyelashes And a bottom set; ‘Precious’ by House Of Lashes
Coastal Scents sent me their new ‘Revealed2’ palette to try out
pre-launch, and I decided to use it in a tutorial as so many of you are always asking me to use ‘more affordable palettes’
So please do check it out!
*This is definitely a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette*
It’s now available for purchase, and to celebrate its release Coastal Scents have it on their website for half price, but it’s only for about another 12 hours or so… http://www.coastalscents.com/makeup/eyes/eye-palettes/revealed-2.html
So today I decided to create a full coverage contour teamed with a classic defined eye & Matt Red Lip!
I used SupraColour foundation by Kryolan, and I applied it with a combination of a stipple brush and a damp sponge.
I used a really pale shade, and a really dark brown.
On my eyes I used Vanilla by MAC, over the lid, and then Nylon over the top.
I created a slight cut crease using Black & Dark Brown from my Louise Young Essential Eyes palette.
Using a fluffy brush I swirled it in Tempting by MAC, which is a lighter brown shade, and I softened the crease upwards and towards the inner of the eye.
On the brow bone I used Duality from Anastasia Beverly Hills, to highlight under the brow, then I used a touch of Nylon to enhance it.
For my brows, I used a Brunette Brow Wiz from Anastasia Beverly Hills to map out the shape, then I filled it in with the matching brow powder.
To create the liner across my lid, I used Bobbi Browns Ink Black Gel liner on a fine liner brush. I also took that across my waterline & tight lined too.
I added a little mascara and some lashes to enhance the eyes. I love Magnetic Lash right now.
For my lips, I used Brick pencil by MAC to colour the entire lips in - creating a beautiful matte shade.
This is a close up of the lips from my recent shoot with Martin Higgs & Sam Englebrecht.
On the lips are Lime Crime’s ‘Kaleidoscope’ & ‘Candy Apple’.
Resembles a galaxy, what with all the glitter from the gloss!
I lined the lips using MACs ‘Nightmoth’, colouring in the outside edges. Then I took MACs ‘Brick’ pencil and coloured in the centre of the lips.
Lastly I took the two Lime Crime lip glosses to coat the top of the lip pencil. I used ‘Kaleidoscope’ first and coloured the outside edges, then I used the ‘Candy Apple’ shade to colour in the centre of the lips. I used my Kryolan lip brush to feather the edges of the glosses together. Check out my YouTube Channel for creative makeup looks: www.youtube.com/smiles2310

Here is a behind the scenes photo of a makeup look I created on model Kate Errington!
I used a variety of vibrant eyeshadow colours from brands such as Sugar Pill, Grimas, No.7 & MAC! It was all about contrasting colours but in a complimentary way. By that I mean using colours such as Yellow against Purple. They contrast due to their colour differences, but are complimentary on the colour wheel. By using colours that are so different, you can create some real eye-catching results, and that’s why I chose to use an electric Blue liquid liner across the eyelid. This liner is by No.7, I do love it but it does stain the skin, so be warned!
